On reading minds

I had been brought up to believe as a part of my religious education that "the devil cannot read your mind". The idea being that your thoughts are sacrosanct, only God knows our thoughts.  I am not sure what the implications of this was supposed to be, but it served as a mark of divinity.  So what does one do with this headline from ScienceNowPardon, your thoughts are showing. ?

It is difficult to argue with the science. That is the way our Creator made us. The bigger issue is whether we wish to continue viewing Him as a bad parent who failed to raise one of his children properly resulting him him becoming the devil. How can we chastise others for failing as parents when our theology presents a God who did?
